Organic botanicals and nutraceuticals

Our ingredients are tailored towards delivering health benefits to nourish and support the body, brain and beauty and meet the requirements of a modern lifestyle.

From buffered vitamin C which protects cells from oxidative stress, pure MCT oil that fuels cellular energy production, vegan fermented amino acids and pure hydrolysed collagen peptides to soothing adaptogens and nootropics for cognitive function and stress resilience.

Ashwagandha

Also known as Indian ginseng this botanical is native to North Africa and India. It has been used for over 3000 years as one of the most important herbs in Ayurvedic medicine.

The Sanskrit translation of ashwagandha is ‘smell of the horse’ which refers to its ancient belief of supporting energy, endurance and strength.

In the West, ashwagandha is known as an adaptogen which helps build resilience to stress. These benefits are thought to be attributed to bioactive compounds naturally present in ashwagandha called withanolides.

As for taste, ashwagandha has a sweet, nutty, malty taste which adds a real comfort factor to our Inspired Collagyn. It is one of our favourites and you can also find organic ashwagandha in our Coffee + Collagen and Cacao + Collagen.

Beetroot

Beautiful deep pink in colour and rich in earthy beet flavours this incredible ingredient captured our hearts a long time ago. The nutrients found in beetroot include folate, vitamin C, manganese, potassium, fibre and several beneficial plant compounds such as the deep red plant pigment called betanin.

Beetroot also provides a natural source of inorganic nitrates which the body may convert into nitric oxide which supports the mechanisms involved with blood pressure balance.

We use an intensely delicious organic beetroot powder which adds depth, richness and velvety texture to our Cacao + Collagen and Radiant Collagyn.

Brown Rice Protein

Rice protein is a great source of gluten-free, dairy-free, low carb and low fat protein which contains a wide range of amino acids and essential amino acids.

For those focusing on body conditioning, protein powders are likely to become a key part of your fitness strategy and if you’re following a plant-based diet then a daily source of essential amino acids is key for vegan wellbeing.

Our rice protein comes from wholegrain rice and has a very mild, nutty, naturally sweet flavour. We combine rice, pea and chickpea proteins in our Naked Collagyn, Inspired Collagyn and Radiant Collagyn for a more complete protein package.

Baobab

Originating in Africa, the baobab tree produces a hard fruit with a shell like coconut which is full of nutritious pulp. Baobab is an exceptional unique fruit with the ability to naturally dehydrate while still on the branch.

Requiring no heat or pasteurisation its properties remain intact meaning baobab powder is unusually nutrient dense, bursting with vitamin C (three times that of an orange) and nearly 50% fibre.

Our organic baobab has a delicate slightly sweet and tangy flavour and adds a creamy texture to our Coffee + Collagen and Cacao + Collagen.

Black Peppercorn

Since ancient times black pepper is one of the most widely traded spices in the world. Sought after for its fiery flavour, black pepper is native to Kerala in India and is widely used in Ayurvedic medicine.

The nutritional profile of this little spicy gem includes manganese, iron and vitamin K but it’s the 5% presence of piperine that’s grabbed our attention.

Piperine provides a helping hand for the absorption of curcumin, the active compound found in turmeric, which is why we’ve paired up black pepper with turmeric in our Inspired Collagyn.

Cardamom

Traditionally an Indian spice native to Kerala’s evergreen rain forests, cardamom is highly aromatic and has a gentle fragrant woody and citrusy flavour that lifts the senses and helps to clear the mind.

Cardamom has long been a hero ingredient in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine as it contains a handful of minerals plus vitamins B2, B3 and C alongside a plethora of bioactive compounds including flavanols and polyphenols.

Organic cardamom is one of five delicious Ayurvedic spices found in our Inspired Collagyn alongside cinnamon, turmeric, black pepper and ginger.

Carob

Carob is a tropical, evergreen flowering shrub with pods that look like dark brown pea pods. These contain a naturally sweet edible pulp that tastes like chocolate!

The ancient Greeks were the first to cultivate carob trees and they are now grown all over the world from India to Australia.

Carob contains an impressive collection of nutrients including fibre, calcium (twice as much compared to cocoa), iron, potassium, manganese, magnesium, gallic acid and pectin.

Unlike cacao, carob is caffeine-free and incredibly sweet and adds a real touch of luxury to our Coffee + Collagen and Cacao + Collagen.

Cocoa

Cocoa originates from South America and was used by the Mayans for ceremonial rituals and health purposes.

Harvested from the cacao fruit tree, also known as Theobroma Cacao, cocoa is high in fibre, polyphenols, iron and magnesium and also contains phenylethylamine and theobromines which may have mood enhancing properties.

Cocoa beans are crushed, the fat or cocoa butter is removed, the beans are roasted and ground to create a deep, rich, intense, chocolaty, slightly bitter, slightly sweet flavour.

We pride ourselves in sourcing the best quality organic cocoa for our Cacao + Collagen and it’s so good we couldn’t resist adding a touch to our Coffee + Collagen.

Cinnamon

Originating from Indonesia and China, cinnamon is a tree bark and has been important both as a culinary spice and as an Ayurvedic botanical for centuries.

Researchers are uncovering how this aromatic spice may help support the mechanism that help regulate blood sugar balance and its natural sweetness helps reduce the need for added sugar.

There is something incredibly comforting about the naturally sweet flavour and aroma of this beautiful spice and for this reason, we’ve included our beautiful organic cinnamon to Cacao + Collagen and Inspired Collagyn

.

Roasted Chicory Root

Chicory root has been used as far back as Ancient Rome for its wealth of health benefits. Once roasted the root takes on a dark, intense and roasted flavour which compliments and naturally enhances the flavour of ingredients such as coffee and cacao.

Chicory root has a very high concentration of a soluble dietary fibre called inulin, (one of the highest known in plants), which helps support digestive function, gut microbiome and contributes to a feeling of fullness.

Our organic roasted chicory root with its slightly bitter and nutty flavour is a real hero ingredient in Coffee + Collagen and Cacao + Collagen.

Chickpea Protein

One of the main ingredients found in all three of our vegan Collagyn range is a new chickpea protein powder that’s incredibly nutritious.

When it comes to vegan and plant-based nutrition, chickpeas provide a wide range of amnio acids including essential amino acids which are often hard to find on a predominately plant diet.

With plant-based nutrition in mind, we combine this chickpea protein powder with brown rice and pea protein powders to provide a more comprehensive range of amino acids.

This chickpea protein provides a milky and creamy in texture to our vegan Collagyn blends and you can find this innovative protein powder in our Naked Collagyn, Inspired Collagyn and Radiant Collagyn.

Chicory Root Inulin

Soluble fibre is an important food source for the diverse numbers of friendly microbes that naturally reside in the gut microbiome.

Our organic inulin is sourced form chicory root and has a light, sweet and subtle malty flavour that helps satisfy those afternoon sweet tooth cravings.

Also, being a source of fibre, inulin also helps to keep you feeling fuller for longer – so it’s a win-win ingredient!

We believe that healthy digestion is fundamental to general health and wellbeing which is why we’ve included a source of soluble fibre in our Naked Collagyn, Radiant Collagyn and Inspired Collagyn.

Choline

Similar to vitamin D, a nutrient called choline is hard to obtain through a plant-based diet which is why many health organisations are promoting vegan awareness for the risk of choline deficiency.

Studies indicate that this nutrient is important for neurotransmitter balance, cardiovascular health and the maintenance of normal liver function.

To help support daily wellbeing for those of you following a plant-based diet we’ve included a form of vegan choline (L-Choline Bitartrate) in our Naked Collagyn, Radiant Collagyn and Inspired Collagyn.

Collagen Specific Amino Acids

Collagen is an important structural protein providing strength and integrity to numerous body tissues including skin, bones, cartilage, blood vessel walls, ligaments, tendons and connective tissues.

There are many different types of collagen all formed around 17 different amino acids with the main composition of collagen being formed from five key amino acids - glycine, proline, hydroxyproline, arginine and alanine.

We’ve formulated our Naked Collagyn, Radiant Collagyn and Inspired Collagyn with vegan and naturally fermented forms of these key amino acids.

Ginger Root

Native to south-east Asia, ginger has been used a powerful botanical in Ayurvedic medicine for years.

The health benefits of ginger are mainly attributed to a natural compound called gingerols present in the oily resin found in the root.

Ginger is also helpful for easing nausea associated with travel and morning sickness and it bring a gentle level of chilli style heat to our Inspired Collagyn.

Ginger also delivers a beautiful complex aromatic flavour that compliments cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric and black pepper in our Inspired Collagyn.

Glucosamine Sulphate

High impact sports and day-to-day living contribute wear and tear to the spongy cartilage cushions which act as shock absorbers in our joints.

Regardless of whether you’re an endurance athlete, fitness warrior, countryside stroller or a yoga/pilates fanatic, we all need to look after our joints to help maintain our movement and flexibility, as the decades role by.

We’ve cushioned our Naked Collagyn formula with therapeutic levels of glucosamine sulphate, from a naturally fermented source that’s suitable for vegans.

Haskap Berry

This tangy blue berry is native to the Northern Hemisphere and thrives in countries such as Japan, Siberia, Kamchatka, Poland and Eastern Europe.

With a nutritional profile that includes vitamin C, iridoids, cholorogenic acid, quercetin, luteolin and levels of polyphenols (including anthocyanins) far higher than other well-known berries. These nutrients work synergistically to help protect cells from the harmful effects of oxidative stress caused by free radicals.

Nicknamed the ‘berry of longevity’ we’ve proudly added this tasty newcomer to our pretty pink Radiant Collagyn.

Hydrolysed Collagen Peptides

Collagen provides strength and integrity to the structural protein matrix found in skin, bones, ligaments, tendons and cartilage.

Collagen loss is a natural part of ageing which occurs from our 30’s and increase as we grow older. Our hydrolysed collagen peptides are a specific size (under 5000DA’s) for maximum absorption and efficient integration into targeted cells.

Sourced from grass-fed herds in the EU and found pre-blended in our delicious brews of Coffee + Collagen and Cacao + Collagen or as our odourless, tasteless, highly dissolvable True Collagen to add to your own drinks.

MCT (Medium Chain Triglycerides)

MCT’s are readily utilised for cellular energy production and easily convert into ketones which may provide an alternative energy source for brain cells.

Rest assured our True MCT oil is sustainably sourced 100% from coconuts, never from palm oil, and is extracted using pure steamed distillation and gentle hydrolysis to contain C8 (60%) and C10 (40%).

A clear, odourless, and tasteless oil to easily fuel-up your day. A popular Brave Recipe is the morning ritual of adding True MCT to your morning coffee (or tea) for an invigorating start to the day.

You can also find MCT oil powder in our Naked Collagyn, Inspired Collagyn and Radiant Collagyn. GMO and solvent free.

MSM

This nutraceutical ingredient is officially called Methyl Sulphonyl Methane a technical name for a naturally occurring form of sulphur.

Although there are many synthetic forms of this nutraceutical made from petroleum sources, we only ever use a unique plant-derived form of MSM which is extracted from corn. Sulphur provides cross-links (strong bonds) to structural proteins including keratin and collagen, contributing strength, integrity, flexibility and elasticity to areas of the body where these proteins are found – muscles, bones, connective tissue, hair, skin, nails, and cartilage.

You can find our plant-derived MSM in our vegan Naked Collagyn designed for sporty and active lifestyles.

Pink Himalayan Salt

Protected from modern day pollution by snow and ice, Himalayan pink salt has been preserved in an untouched, pristine environment and is considered the purest salt on the earth.

Whereas salt simply provides sodium, Himalayan salt contains a full set of electrolyte minerals (calcium, sodium, magnesium, potassium) and an impressive collection of 84 trace minerals and elements. The minerals in this salt exist in colloidal form, which means that they are small enough to be quickly and easily absorbed.

You’ll find a flavour enhancing pinch of our pristine pink Himalayan salt in our Cacao + Collagen.

Pea Protein

Pea protein is sourced from yellow split peas which have been cultivated for food for thousands of years.

We use a special 80% pea protein which removes more of the fats and carbs in order to provide a concentrate diverse range of amino acids found in this plant protein.

We choose this source of protein over whey or soy proteins due to health (both are common allergens) and environmental reasons.

Combining pea protein with our brown rice and chickpea protein gives a more comprehensive amnio acids profile for our Naked Collagyn, Inspired Collagyn and Radiant Collagyn.

Raw Cacao

Whereas cocoa is made using a fermentation process drying, roasting and then milling cacao beans into a fine powder - raw cacao is made from unprocessed and unroasted cacao powder.

This gives raw cacao a subtle chocolate flavour and an improved nutrition profile since many of the natural phytonutrients, enzymes and vitamins found naturally in the cacao bean may be lost during the roasting process.

You’ll find organic raw cacao in our Cacao + Collagen where it imparts a rich, smooth chocolate flavour.

Raspberry

We’ve taste tested numerous sources of raspberry powders from all corners of the world and discovered that our organic freeze-dried raspberry powder is simply exceptional.

Whereas most raspberry powders are either full of natural sweetness or packed with tangy raspberry tartness, our carefully sourced and treasured raspberry powder is full bodied and beautifully balanced.

We use the whole fruit rather than just a juice powder, so you all of the nutrients found in the whole berry – fibre, anthocyanins, quercetin, ellagic acid, catechins and of course the real skin hero - vitamin C.

This stunning organic ingredient, with equally balanced sweetness and tanginess takes centre stage in our Radiant Collagyn.

Rosehip Berry Powder

Long used in traditional Chinese medicine, skin experts have also been proclaiming the beauty benefits of this bright red autumn berry for decades - and with good reason!

Rosehips are a naturally great source of vitamin C which is why this berry has a reputation for nurturing your skin from within.

Our organic rosehip berry powder has a delicate hint of floral flavour with a malty undertone and provides a tangy fruity flavour which complements the raspberry and haskap berries in our Radiant Collagyn.

Seaweed

Our organic Hebridean seaweed is sustainably wild-harvested around the remote islands of the Scottish Outer Hebrides.

These pristine waters are carefully monitored and managed, with exclusive harvesting rights from the Crown Estate.

The harvested seaweed is carefully dried, gently processed and milled into a nutritious, flavourless ingredient containing a variety of minerals including iodine to help support normal cognitive, thyroid, nervous system and skin function and contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism.

Packed full of iodine to offer 100% of your daily recommended you can find this hero ingredient in our Naked Collagyn, Inspired Collagyn and Radiant Collagyn.

Santos Brazilian Coffee

The Santos Brazilian Arabica coffee beans are the most renowned coffee beans in Brazil and they’re considered a direct descendant of the original coffee plants imported into Brazil.

We use high-grade organic coffee beans which imparts a fuller and fruitier flavour.

These beans have gone through a natural, unwashed process which allows fermentation of the pulp on the bean during drying and we source batches with low mycotoxins.

Our Santos Brazilian coffee has a nutty, mellow, bittersweet, chocolaty roasted flavour with low acidity - simply perfect for our Coffee + Collagen. With naturally present nootropic caffeine and adaptogenic ashwagandha Coffee + Collagen helps bring focus and energy to your day.

Turmeric

The world has fallen in love with this golden spice. Turmeric comes from the rhizome of a plant in the ginger family.

Hailed as one of the most powerful botanicals in the world with a multitude of health benefits this rich spice had been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine.

The highly regarded active compound found in turmeric is called curcumin which is currently at the centre of many exciting scientific research studies.

With its aromatic, warm, peppery, soothing and comforting flavour this cheerful botanical can be found in our Inspired Collagyn.

Vitamin C

Not all vitamin C’s are created equal. The most common version of vitamin C, called ascorbic acid, has a very low absorption rate and often triggers digestive disturbance.

So we formulate our products with a gentle on the gut, buffered form of vitamin C called magnesium ascorbate which has far superior absorption than standard ascorbic acid.

Magnesium ascorbate is one of our most important ingredients in terms of health benefits, daily wellbeing, collagen renewal and supporting skin cell protection.

You can find a generous 250mg (280% of your daily recommended dose) in each serving of our Naked Collagyn, Inspired Collagyn and Radiant Collagyn.

Vegan Vitamin D

Vitamin D is made by skin cells when exposed to sunlight but national studies across many European countries, indicate that deficiencies in vitamin D are commonplace.

Vitamin D is naturally found in meat, fish and dairy products making this vitamin hard to find when following a plant-based diet.

This vital vitamin is important for supporting normal bone health, immune and muscle function.

We’ve included a vegan certified form of vitamin D3, sourced from algae, in our Naked Collagyn, Inspired Collagyn and Radiant Collagyn.

White Tea Extract

White tea retains the highest level of polyphenols and catechins including epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) compared to green and black tea.

Skin ageing occurs due to internal and external factors which damage skin cells, disrupt elastin and collagen and affect skin tone and elasticity.

The bioactive compounds present in white tea help protect skin cells from the harmful effects of oxidative stress generated by free radicals, UV rays and common pollutants.

Our white tea extract contains 40% polyphenols and is included in beauty formulas Naked Collagyn, Inspired Collagyn and Radiant Collagyn.
