Vitamin C - Noble

Not all vitamin C’s are created equal. The most common version of vitamin C, called ascorbic acid, has a very low absorption rate and often triggers digestive disturbance.

So we formulate our products with a gentle on the gut, buffered form of vitamin C called magnesium ascorbate which has far superior absorption than standard ascorbic acid.

Magnesium ascorbate is one of our most important ingredients in terms of health benefits, daily wellbeing, collagen renewal and supporting skin cell protection.

You can find a generous 250mg (280% of your daily recommended dose) in each serving of our Naked Collagyn and Radiant Collagyn.

Boswellia

Across centuries, Boswellia serrata, has stood as a cornerstone of healing in Ayurvedic medicine, often referred to as Indian Frankincense. This aromatic ingredient is also found in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Middle Eastern healing traditions.

Boswellia serrata is the resin of the hardy boswellia tree, found mainly in the dry rocky parts of the Indian and African subcontinent.  Farmers of this plant make cuts into the bark to produce ‘tears’ of aromatic resin.

Rich in boswellic acids, Boswellia serrata is best known for its ability to modulate and reduce the inflammatory response, making it a useful tool against inflammation related to conditions like joint pain, arthritis, asthma, and even some inflammatory gut conditions.

In recent decades, scientific research has further illuminated the multifaceted benefits of Boswellia in supporting the immune system on multiple levels. For this reason you can find boswellia serrata in our Noble Collagen formulation to support joint health.

Type II Collagen

Undenatured Type II collagen is a form of collagen extracted from chicken sternum cartilage in a way that preserves its natural structure. Unlike hydrolysed collagen peptides, where the collagen molecule is broken down into smaller peptides for the body to absorb, undenatured type II collagen maintains its integrity.

This innovative and intelligent ingredient contains bioactive components which specifically support cartilage and joint function. Its intact structure allows it to signal the body's immune system, supporting cartilage repair. Undenatured Type II collagen only requires a small dose of 40mg for efficacy, which is why you’ll find it in our Noble Collagen in an easy one-a-day capsule form.

Manganese

Manganese is a trace mineral that plays a crucial role in various physiological processes in the body. As well as serving as a cofactor for many enzymes involved in antioxidant defense, it’s also key for bone formation, and connective tissue health.

Manganese is naturally found in foods, including nuts, seeds, whole grains, leafy green vegetables, and legumes. You’ll also find it in our Noble Collagen capsule to support and target joint health.

Your Method

Take one capsule per day with a glass of water, preferably at a mealtime.

Weave this practice into your day, as part of your wellness ritual and take a moment of quiet reflection.

FAQs

What is (UC-II) Type II Collagen, and how does it benefit joint health?

UC-II is a type of undenatured Type II Collagen clinically proven to support the integrity and flexibility of joint cartilage. It is effective in promoting joint comfort, mobility and flexibility at a low 40mg dose from only 3 weeks. It has a unique mechanism of action, different to that of Type I Collagen found in True and Wild as it signals the immune system to build new joint cartilage. It also has a different structure to the Type I Collagen (True and Wild) as it is not ‘hydrolysed’ but rather ‘undenatured’ which means it has a different mechanism of action.

If I take Noble Collagen should I still take True Collagen or Wild Collagen?

Yes, True and Wild contain Type I 'hydrolysed' collagen peptides. Type II Collagen is described as 'undenatured' collagen. These serve different purposes in the body. While Type II is focused on joint health, improving joint pain and mobility issues, Type I provides general support to whole body health and supports skin, hair, nails, bones and generalised support for joints. We recommend taking True or Wild Collagen to support whole body health. Those with specific health goals around joints and mobility would benefit from the additional, targeted benefits from Noble Collagen.

Where does Type II Collagen come from?

Our Type II Collagen is sustainably sourced from chicken sternum cartilage. This source is specifically chosen because it naturally contains a high concentration of Type II Collagen, which is beneficial for joint health.

How long does Noble Collagen take to work?

Improvements in joint comfort and mobility have been reported from consistent use of (UCII) Type II Collagen in the scientific literature within 3 weeks. Consistent and long-term supplementation is key for optimal results.

Can I take it if pregnant?

People take collagen for all different reasons, however while collagen supplements are not contraindicated in pregnancy, UC-II hasn't been specifically studied during pregnancy. Boswellia also has cautionary advice during this time therefore we do not recommend Noble Collagen whilst pregnant.

Does it matter if I forget to take one?

Occasionally forgetting is unlikely to impact results but consistent and long-term supplementation is key for optimal results. Use our Ritual Case to ensure you never forget your daily wellness ritual.

Are there any side effects associated with these ingredients?

UC-II has an extremely high safety profile. Boswellia is generally considered safe for use although not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We should always advise consulting healthcare providers before starting any new supplement, especially for those with pre-existing medical conditions or taking other medications.

Is this supplement vegetarian/vegan-friendly?

This supplement contains collagen derived from chicken so it is not vegetarian/vegan friendly.

What is the difference between True/Wild and Noble Collagen?

Collagen is categorised into three overall types, with each grouping having its own unique characteristics. So far, at least 28 different forms of collagen have been identified, with around 90% of the collagen in the body consisting of types I, II, and III. Type I and Type III Collagen are the forms most commonly found in skin, bone, teeth, ligaments, organs, and tendons. Meanwhile, Type II Collagen is the primary protein in cartilage, the connective tissue protecting our bones at the joints. The degradation of cartilage is the most significant cause of joint discomfort, disease, and loss of function over time.

Along with numbered types, collagen also has structural variations across different forms. There are two main structural variations to be aware of—undenatured and hydrolyzed collagen. Hydrolyzed collagen—the form Type I Collagen often takes—has been broken down or 'denatured' into smaller molecules. ‘Undenatured’ or ‘native’ Type II Collagen keeps its three-dimensional structure intact and has a uniquely effective mechanism of action that targets the joints by signalling the body’s immune system to promote the growth of new joint cartilage.
